Originally purchased by famous business owner, I have history of this car from the beginning ? Runs and drives very well, could drive across country on it's own power if needed! My father and I took on this project three years ago, Christmas of 2014. The car was sitting in a shed in California for 15 years prior, it was brought to the East Coast by my friend in an enclosed trailer. We began restoration which included rebuilding the whole car from the ground up. Motor was removed from the chassis. The crankshaft and the heads were sent out to a machine shop. We assembled the motor with all new components. We had the Quadrajet carburator rebuilt with new components. I have pictures of the work performed upon request. Then we replaced all the shocks and struts in the car. Brand new brake calipers were installed and system was bled. We purchased period correct 15" Dayton wire wheels to replace the steel hubcap wheels that were installed from the factory, car looks stunning on the new wheels. Brand new tires were installed. Polishing of the body panels as well as all metal components was done by me. Everything was removed and polished piece by piece. The paint shines beautifully! There are some minor chips in the paint, but I wanted the car to wear it's patina, and it does so very well. People are excited when they learn that paint is original. Original side pipe exhaust is polished and is fully functional. Interior was reupholstered in quilted leather. Wiring loom was re-done. New air tank and air pump were installed. The air horns were refurbished and work flawlessly, they're very loud! All the lights work. Engine is smooth, starts on the first crank and sounds very exotic. Transmission shifts smoothly. I have a tonneau cover that was custom made for this car, it can be buttoned to cover the whole interior or just the rear area. I also have the original period correct licence plate. The amount of time and money will never be recouped on a project like this, but I want someone else to enjoy this car as much as we did while restoring it and driving it this past summer.
